Hello and welcome to my personal crochet journey! As a child I have fond memories of crochet dolls made by my Great Aunt Gloria. In her 90's today she fueled my interest in learning this age-old craft that has progressed with the times. So in the fall of 2010 I purchased "I Taught Myself Crochet" a great beginner's crochet kit complete with a pictures and simple instruction of all basic crochet stitches, crochet hooks and simple patterns.
My first project was a simple rectangular purse using a variegated yarn. It turned out great and my passion began to grow. In that first year I made a book cover with a buttoned closure, numerous purses to give away, adorable animal hats for my nephews and even a ballerina elephant.
This summer at our family's cottage in WNY I shared my new-found enjoyment with my Aunt Gloria and was thrilled to see an afghan she is currently working on for her cottage bedroom. I could only be so lucky later in life to still be crafting beautiful things!
I hope you enjoy my journey and find the courage to learn something new no matter what your age!
